Yesterday City Airline won the prestigious title "Trailblazer of the Year" in the TRIP Award competition, 2009.
"We are delighted to be awarded the TRIP award for 'Trailblazer of the Year'. We have developed our range for many years now and we have established attractive business destinations and also, most recently, seven new routes to southern Europe. It's a great pleasure to be awarded this recognition," says Jimmie Bergqvist, managing director at City Airline.
The TRIP Awards are annual prizes awarded by the travel and tourist industry to successful and proficient entrepreneurs. The winners were announced today at the "Swedish Travel- and Tourist Gala").
The jury's statement: "This year's Trailblazer is a company that has followed its own pathway and purposefully expanded at its own pace. The company today is an innovator in its field and is starting to progress from its regional base into new markets. The Trailblazer is clear evidence that a small regional actor, given its unique characteristics, can grow in a limited market. The company has in this way literally contributed to enabling a complete industry to fly."
