The Göteborg-based City Airline, which today operates direct flights from Göteborg’s Landvetter airport to 12 cities in Europe, opens flights to Nice today, 12 March. It was necessary to add several supplementary departures following release of the tickets last autumn, and the route is nearly fully booked until August.
“We have targeted the leisure travel market, and this has been very successful. Our flexible jet aircraft enable us to find destinations that are attractive for travellers, and we can adjust and optimise our schedules to fit”, says Jimmie Bergqvist, managing director at City Airline.
City Airline has been a major player in the business travel market in Göteborg for many years. The company has now targeted the leisure travel market during recent months, and the success of the Nice route means that the possibility of opening new routes this spring is being studied.
“It’s important to listen, and to offer routes that our customers want. We will continue to target the market for leisure travel, and we will examine the possibilities of new routes. At the same time we will take good care of our business passengers and we plan to review our expansion of new business routes this spring. One new initiative is the opening of an early flight to Helsinki on 14 April”, says Jimmie Bergqvist.
