The Göteborg-based City Airline, which today operates direct flights from Göteborg’s Landvetter airport to 12 cities in Europe, continues its expansion this spring. The first step is a new route between Göteborg and Helsinki, opening on 14 April.
“We will be operating the route in collaboration with SAS. Our flexible jet aircraft allow us to offer an early morning flight from Göteborg, Landvetter.
The departure time of 06.30 means that passengers will be in Helsinki at 09.00 local time, which is approximately two hours earlier than previously possible using Blue 1 and SAS flights. We believe that this route is strategically important for us. Many passengers fly to Helsinki and then continue onwards in Finland by domestic flights. The earlier arrival means that our passengers will have a better choice of connecting domestic flights in Finland, while other passengers who are travelling out and return on the same day will have longer in Helsinki”, says Jimmie Bergqvist, managing director at City Airline.
