One of the most popular places to visit when in Stavanger is the Preikestolen, a rock plateau that lies 604 metres above the surface of Lysefjorden. The view from here is fantastic and exhilarating. You are also close to the Kjerag mountain, which is very popular among climbers.
There are ample opportunities for bathing in Stavanger. You can chose anything from challenging cliffs to sandy white beaches and green grass. Sola beach with its 2 kilometres of fine sand is a very popular destination.
