The Sun Coast. The name says it all. 320 days of sunshine each year. People come here mainly for the beaches and perhaps almost as much for the golf courses. As a bonus you get exciting food dishes and interesting history. This coast is often called The Golf Coast since it offers a choice of 30 golf courses. And you find another 30 courses in Andalusia.

There are other interesting towns to visit in the area around Malaga. Torremolinos is a good place for partying and it has the biggest and the best discos, and some wonderful long beaches. Fuengirola is another classic destination for tourists with its beaches, restaurants and bars. The jet set town Marbella, with its luxury and celebrities, is situated further west.
Besides sunshine, golf and parties, Malaga is best known as the home town of Pablo Picasso, and the Picasso museum is a popular place with visitors. Other cultural and historical sights are the Roman theatre, the Arabic fortress Alcazaba, with a beautiful palace and garden and a bull-fighting arena.

In Malaga you eat tapas. This is a choice of many different small dishes. You must try the cold soup Gazpacho, which is a speciality of Andalusia. Another speciality is Malaga’s "churrerias", fried bread (churros) which you dip in hot chocolate or coffee.
