The centre of events
Everything happens in Barcelona; everything you could wish for, and a little more, is here. Barcelona is a world-class city and a place of refuge that has always welcomed visitors. People eat late in the evening in Spain, which is good to keep in mind, though we Swedish people often eat a little earlier, and that can mean it is easier to get a table. Catalonian cuisine enjoys great success and attention around the world, so you will find much more than just tapas here. And after a late dinner the nightlife continues in bars and clubs.
Gaudi has left his mark on Barcelona through several fascinating buildings and for those interested in art there are the Picasso and the Miro museums. Other buildings of interest are all the Olympic constructions and of course the football stadium Camp Nou where Zlatan now plays for Barcelona.
If you feel like shopping, look out for Barcelona’s vintage boutiques where there are always bargains. Besides second hand articles, design is another hot tip as well as clothes from for example the well-known chain Zara. And for those of you who are not interested in walking the pavements or hanging out round the city streets, you can always enjoy spending time on Barcelona’s beaches.
