Passport & ID

The following regulations concerning passports apply:

Within the Nordic region
Passports are not required within the Nordic region. The Nordic countries mutually accept normal ID documents.

Within the Schengen Area

There is no identity control for persons crossing borders within the Schengen Area. You must, however, be able to confirm your citizenship and your identity with a passport when staying in another country in the Schengen Area, such as when staying at a hotel, guesthouse or campsite. Sweden has introduced a new national identity card that can replace a passport when travelling within the Schengen Area. City Airline flies to the following countries within the Schengen Area: Estonia, Norway, France, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Italy, The Czech Republic and Austria.

Outside of the Schengen Area
Personal identity control always takes place at the border when travelling outside of the Schengen Area. A valid passport must always be presented. Remember that certain countries require a certain minimum remaining period of validity for the passport and that it is your responsibility as a passenger to check what passport regulations are in force before you travel.

City Airline recommends you to always carry a passport with a validity-time over 6 months.
