Children travelling alone
Children aged 5-11 years are welcome to travel alone with us, provided that it is confirmed when booking the ticket that assistance will be required.
Children between 5-11 years who are not traveling with an adult over 16 years must be booked in as unaccompanied child. Contact the booking to make your reservation. Since we can only confirm a certain number of unaccompanied children, a child may be denied boarding if assistance is not booked / confirmed beforehand (for domestic and international travel).
Booking
You must provide information when booking about name, address and telephone number of the responsible adult who will bring the child to the airport and the person who will meet him or her at the destination.
Also, please let us know if the child has any specific needs we have to be aware of.
Domestic flights – Children who travel alone pay the normal adult price, and there is no surcharge.

International flights – Children who travel alone pay the normal child’s price, with a surcharge of SEK 250 per flight.
Several unaccompanied children who travel together (within the same family) pay a maximum surcharge of SEK 250 per flight.

Departure
A child who is travelling alone must be at the airport at least one hour before the departure time. The child must be accompanied by the responsible person whose name was given when the booking was made. This person must remain at the airport minimum 15 minutes after the departure of the flight.
Onboard
Children who travel alone board the aircraft before other passengers and leave the aircraft either first or last. Children are seated in forward cabin so that our personnel can assist the child if necessary, and at the same time make the journey secure, safe and enjoyable.
Arrival
When the aircraft arrives at its destination, our personnel accompany the child to the arrivals hall. There the responsible adult whose name was given at the time of booking meets and receives the child. This person must be able to confirm his or her identity. Note that the child will not be transferred to any other person than the responsible adult specified at the time of booking.
Infants
An infant is a child which have not yet turned two years old, but who is at least seven days old. When travelling with an infant you have your child on your lap. When flying domestic the infant is flying free of charge, while a charge of 10% of an adult ticket is levied on international flights.
It is allowed to travel with more than one infant per adult if you have paid for an extra seat and the second infant is placed in an accepted car safety seat on the aircraft.
Please note that you always have to make a reservation for your infant, both on domestic and international flights.
Prams/Child car seats
You may take with you prams and child car seats at no extra cost, if the weight is less than 10 kg. Prams and child car seats must be checked in as normal baggage and are to be packed in protective plastic. Such plastic is available for purchase at the airport, and is not provided by City Airline.
